It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Merry Ann Smith of Urbana, Illinois, born in Champaign, Illinois, who passed away on March 23, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Charles S. Danner and Fern L. Dey Danner; her husband William A. Smith; her children, Rebecca Pertzsch (Quint) of Denver, CO, Meghan Swaar (Blake) of Bloomington, IL and Shannon Elsey (Pat) of La Grange, IL.; her grandchildren, Adalyn, Afton, Charles, Ansel and Winston; and her siblings, Charles Danner (Marion) and Lila Hewkin (late Joe).

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Merry's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
