He is survived by : his wife Joan Rinkenberger of Urbana; his children, Brent Hanson (Keiko) of Castle Rock, CO, Ethan Hanson (Ernestine) of Mesa, AZ, Thane Hanson (Heidi) of Mahomet, IL and Gretchen Webb (Aaron) of Oakland Park, FL.; his siblings, Ellen Tempe of Excelsior, MN and Jim Hanson (Pat) of Cedar Falls, IA.; and his grandchildren, Collin Hanson, Daniel Hanson (Lena), Conor Hanson, Chloe Casula (Andy), Kendall Hanson, Vaughan Hanson, Zach Webb, Lizzy Hanson and Isaac Hanson.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Apostolic Christian Church (1401 Devonshire Dr, Champaign, IL 61821). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
