He was predeceased by: his parents, James O. Plankenhorn and Lista M. Plankenhorn (Johns); his brother Jon Plankenhorn; and his close friend Jung Gibson. He is survived by: his siblings, Shari Plankenhorn of Streator and Joe Plankenhorn (Linda); his nieces and nephews, Conni Witherspoon (Will), Jennifer Krolak (Mike), Jon Plankenhorn, Chris Plankenhorn, Tim Plankenhorn (Jolene) and Mark Plankenhorn (Barbie); and his sister-in-law Cecelia "Sis" Plankenhorn of Peru.
