Allen Henry Schmid Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Allen Henry Schmid of Vandalia, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 15, 2025 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Schmid and Anna Schmid (Torbeck); his wife Vivian Schmid; and his sister Marjorie Moeller. He is survived by: his children, Mark Schmid (Tracy) of Auburn, IL and Glori Campbell (Tim) of Vandalia, IL; and his grandchildren, Christopher Schmid (Sarah), Beth Hawk (JJ), Marissa Snyder (Caleb), Matthew Campbell (Mariah) and Asley Berola (Connor). He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. James Lutheran Church (727 W Gallatin St, Vandalia, IL 62471). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 21st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church and/or donor's choice.
