He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Joseph and Mildred Serena Matzker (Gudehus); his son Ryan Matzker; and his brother Leon Matzker. He is survived by: his wife Genny Matzker of Vandalia; his sons, Darren Matzker (Shannon) and Todd Matzker of Brownstown; his stepdaughter Jodie Bernhardt (John) of Chicago; his siblings, Bill Matzker of O'Fallon, Cathy Diveley of Springfield, Rita King (Rick) of Springfield and Marie Washburn (Keith) of Springfield; his grandchildren, Zakkary, Becky, Nora and Bailey; and his great grandchild Gabriel.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Hohlt & File Funeral Home, Ltd. (204 N 4th St, Vandalia, IL 62471). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mother of Dolors Catholic Church (322 N 7th St, Vandalia, IL 62471).
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Caring & Sharing, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or to an organization of the donor's choice.
