He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Muhlbaier and Elizabeth Muhlbaier (Hollenbock); his son Michael Hassell; and his siblings, Thomas, Joseph Muhlbaier and Delores Bundens.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Muhlbaier (Barb) of Benton, Terri Reynolds of Portage, IN, Tabitha Hassell of Vandalia and Eric Hassell of Vandalia; his former wife Sheila Muhlbaier of Vandalia; his grandchildren, Zachary Cann, Samantha Hassell, Logan Bensema, Jacob Reynolds, Sarah Reynolds, Anna Reynolds, T. J. Muhlbaier and Beth Ann Muhlbaier; and his sister Rosemary DeVito. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.
