He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester Talmage and Linda Orene Tidwell (Lockhart); his brother Donald Tidwell; and his granddaughter Heather Miller. He is survived by: his wife Loretta Tidwell of Vandalia; his children, James L. "Jim" Tidwell (Angel) of Vandalia and Pamela (Mike Lawler) of Fillmore; his grandchildren, Jamie Tidwell and Brice Tidwell; his stepgrandchildren, Dustin Lawler, Allison Rusler, Jennifer Lawler and Makenzie Lawler; his great grandchildren, Whitney Eyman, Dravyn Carter, Kaden Tidwell and Gabe Tidwell; and his great great grandchild Braxtyn Eyman. He is also survived by 6 step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to Crown Point Church, where Harold was a devout member.
