Jack Byrkit Johnston Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jack Byrkit Johnston of Vandalia, Illinois, who passed away on May 31, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Aubra "Jack" Boone and Helen Prinzler Johnston (Byrkit). He is survived by: his wife Jan Johnston of Vandalia, IL; his children, Julie Lombardi (Robert "Bob") and Jeffrey Johnston (Amy); and his grandchildren, Mackenzie Lombardi, Keely Lombardi, Aubrey Johnston Meredith (Tyler Meredith), Colin Johnston and Halle Johnston.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church (127 N 4th St, Vandalia, IL 62471). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to First United Methodist Church of Vandalia, Coldwater Conservation Foundation (c/o Tom Whitaker, 214 Peeke Avenue, Kirkwood, MO 63122) and Kaskaskia College Foundation (27210 College Road, Centralia, IL 62801).
