It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard M. McFarland of Vandalia, Illinois, who passed away on October 21, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his siblings, Earl Bedford, Gloria Kernan, Iris McFarland and Georgia Cole White. He is survived by: his wife Ardith McFarland of Vandalia, IL; his children, Vicky Dunn (Stephen) of Belleville, Richard Trent McFarland of Carlyle, Michelle L. Butler (Brian) of Ramsey and Stephanie A. McFarland of Ramsey; his grandchildren, Breanna, Paige, Christopher, Dakota, Jasmine, Emily, Kaylee, Peyton, Chance, Gage, John, Brantley, Kaitlin, Nick, Christian, Lili, Rita and Dwight; and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Maverick, Kacee, Reece, Lainey-Ann, Khloe, Brooklyn, Brantley and Kinleigh. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
