We bid farewell to Ray Edison Doerr of Vergennes, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 12, 2025 at the age of 98. Ray Edison touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Doerr and Ida Doerr (Easterling); his wife Ime; and his siblings, Bill (Bettye Shupe), Harlen (Ramona Wisely), Ruth (James Tindall) and Max (Sarah Parrish).

He is survived by: his son Jeffrey Ray Doerr (Charletta Alstat); his grandchildren, Jessica Rae Berger (Brett), Natasha Marie Kaupanger-Swacker (Keefe) and Santana Ray Doerr; his great grandchildren, Grant Lee Berger (Erin Johnson) and Klara Marie Kaupanger-Swacker; his brother-in-law Dale Schimpf (Judy George); Edison James Erbes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Creekpaum Cemetery.

I knew well he loved his family and took great pride in his legacy of having his son and granddaughter, with other family members, carry on his business and passion of the auction. He might not have understood the changes, but he was proud of them! HIs passion for politics was not far behind! I always enjoyed our political discussions.
