We bid farewell to Ray Edison Doerr of Vergennes, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on July 12, 2025 at the age of 98. Ray Edison touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Doerr and Ida Doerr (Easterling); his wife Ime; and his siblings, Bill (Bettye Shupe), Harlen (Ramona Wisely), Ruth (James Tindall) and Max (Sarah Parrish).
He is survived by: his son Jeffrey Ray Doerr (Charletta Alstat); his grandchildren, Jessica Rae Berger (Brett), Natasha Marie Kaupanger-Swacker (Keefe) and Santana Ray Doerr; his great grandchildren, Grant Lee Berger (Erin Johnson) and Klara Marie Kaupanger-Swacker; his brother-in-law Dale Schimpf (Judy George); and also Edison James Erbes. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Wilson's Funeral Home (206 S 5th St, Ava, IL 62907). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 16th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Creekpaum Cemetery.
