He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth Hunter; his grandparents, Henry, Stella Hunter, Willis and Doris Parry; his stepfather Michael Bernius; and his brother Jeffrey Hunter.

He is survived by: his children, Wade Hunter, Cassey Hilliard, Christopher Hilliard, Dustin Hilliard and Harley Hilliard; his grandchildren, Bryce Hunter, Brayden Hunter, Jayden Hilliard, Kingsley Anderson, Autumn Hatley, Jason Hatley, Corwin Hatley and Valeria Hilliard; his mother Phyllis Bernius; and his siblings, Scott Parry, Troy Hunter (Tonya), Misty Varesko (Robert), Nikki Bernius (Dave Stomberg), Angela Owens, Rhonda Baker (Anthony), Rikki Bernius and Danni Bernius.
