He was predeceased by: his parents, Wayman Tilton and Ruby Tilton (Tharpe); and his daughters, Cassandra Comstock and Angela Thornton. He is survived by: his children, Jeremy Tilton (Lindsay) of Ipava, IL, Gina Tilton of Vermont and Michelle Bannan (Jerry) of Washington, IL; his son-in-law Russell Thornton of Macomb; his brother Gary Tilton (Vivian) of Lake Havasu, AZ; and his brother-in-law Gene Smith of Vermont. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be given to Illinois Cancer Care or the McDonough District Hospice.
