Though Myrtle may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Myrtle touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Albert and Myrtle Lillian Malone (Worley); her son Roger Dale Vaughn; and her siblings, Bill Malone and Alberta Walters.
She is survived by: her children, James Vaughn of Vermont, Tanya Miley of Timewell, IL and Laura Norris of Havana, IL; and her sister Patsy Mayes. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Shawgo Memorial (207 E Broadway, Astoria, IL 61501).
