She was predeceased by: her husband Martin Berklan; her parents, John Froelich and Lillian Froelich (Schwaegerman); and her sister Lois Baker. She is survived by: her children, Lynn Surico (David) and Jim Berklan (Sandy); her grandchildren, Nikki Wilkerson (Drew), Matt Berklan (Katie), Zack Surico and Nick Berklan (Amy); her great grandchildren, Violet and Grant Wilkerson; and her friend Zuzanna "Suze" Lukasik of Poland. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fill a Heart 4 Kids (http://www.fillaheart4kids.org.), an Illinois-based nonprofit that provides homeless, at-risk and foster children with essential supplies, food, life skills and educational support.
