As Shi departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Shi. Though Shi may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Young Sook; his children, Jin Ha Ryoo (Mia) and Ki Ha Ryoo (Hee Jung); and his grandchildren, Nathan, Grace, Sarah and Sean.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Oehler Funeral Home (2099 Miner St, Des Plaines, IL 60016). A committal service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Randhill Cemetery (1700 W Rand Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004).
