We are sad to announce that on April 27, 2025, at the age of 71, Edward C. Barthel of Vienna, Illinois, born in Freeport, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Edward departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Edward. Though Edward may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward C. Barthel and Kathryn D. Barthel (Pax); and his siblings, Joann Barthell, Judith Ann Jones, Sandy Sollinger and James Henry Barthel.
He is survived by: his siblings, Kathy Mickle (Jon Wright), Anthony C. Barthel (Sharon) and Eugene Barthel (Donna); and his siblings' child Glenbrook.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to an animal shelter of the donor's choosing in recognition of Edward's great love of animals.
