He was predeceased by: his parents, Orlan Kerley and Lassie Kerley (Shrum); his wife Lillian V. Scott; his son-in-law Dan Rushing; his siblings, Betty Lou Kerley, Millie Florene Kerley, Frances (Bass Kerley), Faye I. Kerley, Otis (Betty Kerley) and Donald (Carol Kerley); and his brothers-in-law, Gary Dale Murphy and Wayne Breeden.
He is survived by: his daughters, Velma "Shorty" Waters (John) of Vienna and Verna Rushing of Marion, Illinois; his grandchildren, Chandra Prather (Eric) of Eldorado, Chelli Rushing of Eldorado, Steve Waters (Kelli) of Vienna, Illinois, Mike Waters (Branon) of Vienna, Illinois and Sara O'Neal (Ryan) of Vienna, Illinois; his great grandchildren, Dr. Christian Stanley (Madison), John T. Waters (Katrina), Chaitlyn Foos (Johnny), Andrew Rillis Waters (Lilie Lem), Matt O'Neal (Ayva Rush), Grady Waters, Eli O'Neal and Griffin Waters; his great great grandchildren, John Reece Waters and John-Rillis Stanley; and his siblings, Roy Kerley (Ann) of Simpson, Illinois, Letha Breeden of Vienna, Illinois and Wilma Murphy of Vienna, Illinois. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
