He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Harold "Jake" and Bessie Aileen Tanner; his wife Nellie "Peach" Stone; his brother David; his sister-in-law Panchetta; his nephew Monte Tanner; his sister Annie Carder; and his granddaughter Abigail Tanner.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Mortimer of Donnellson, Donna Tobias of West Point and Chad Tanner (Andrea) of McLean, Illinois; his grandchildren, Lance Mortimer, Dana Zumdome (David), Matthew, Ross Tobias, Brooke Wiemann (Jared), Izzy and Isaac Tanner; his great grandchildren, Brayden, Annabell Mortimer, Jaxson and Winston Zumdome; and his siblings, Joe Tanner (Carol) and Judie Flesner (Doug).
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Printy Funeral Home (317 Main St, Warsaw, IL 62379). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at the Chili Cemetery.
