He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward Lange and Bertha Simpson Lange; and his brothers, Harold and Edward. He is survived by : his former life partner Edna "Tootie" Seckler; his wife Ruth Reeder; his daughter Marla Lang (Ryan); his stepsons, Sam Reeder (Marla) of Washington and Tom Reeder (Debbie) of Washington; and his grandchildren, Carly Block (Lyle), Lacey Sams, Ashley Reeder, Mike Reeder, Megan Elschlager (Seth) and Ben Reeder (Betsy). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be given to Washington Fire/Ambulance Service or to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church Mason-White Funeral Home in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
