It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carole Jean Vanderburg of Washington, Illinois, who passed away on March 15, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Carole may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Carole touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Hargus and Roxie Hargus (Helms); and her brother Gary Hargus. She is survived by: her husband Ray Vanderburg of Washington; her children, Dale Vanderburg (Angela) of Taylorsville, Karla Butters (Ken) of Ankeny and Konrad Vanderburg (Tracy) of Washington, Illinois; and her brother Ron Hargus of Springfield, Missouri. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.
