He was predeceased by : his parents, George Brant and Meta Jensen Brant; his wife Mary Jane Womack; and his sister Phyllis Tibbetts. He is survived by : his children, Rebecca A. Brandt of Washington, IL, Steven Brandt (Lori) of Arlington Heights, IL and Linda Brandt Pinney of Ankeny, IA.; and his grandchildren, Brandon Pinney of Denver, CO and Kristen Pinney Stratton (Robert) of Tempe, AZ..

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Washington Fire Department or the Washington District Library.
