With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gene Buckingham of Washington, Illinois, who passed away on October 16, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, may Gene find peace everlasting, cradled in the gentle embrace of the universe. And as we stand on the shores of remembrance, may his legacy inspire us to live each day with purpose, passion, and profound gratitude for the gift of life itself.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Buckingham and Virginia Dawson Buckingham; and his daughter Stacy Buck. He is survived by: his wife Dianne Kice; his daughter Michelle Wooters (Billy); his grandson Dalton Buckingham; and his brother William Buckingham.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory (2075 Washington Rd, Washington, IL 61571). The military honors will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to TAPS or Washington Rescue Squad.
