He was predeceased by : his brother Gary. He is survived by : his daughters, Emily Barry (Josh Mack) of Washington and Elizabeth Barry-Heider (Brock Heider) of Washington; his brother Ronald Barry of Washington; his grandchildren, Blake Barry, Henry Heider, Addison Heider, Harper Diveley and Aria Diveley; his niece Kim Wade; and his nephew Todd Barry.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to the ALS Foundation.
