He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert R. Curtis and Alice Littleton Curtis Sr.; and his sister Barb Miller. He is survived by: his wife Linda Hathcock; his children, Leslie Auman (Dave Arnold) of Eureka, Illinois, Robert Curtis III (DeDe) of Lockport, Illinois and Lisa Johann (Bob) of Washington; his great grandchildren, Payton and Violet; his sister Janet Wright (Ron) of Washington; and his brother-in-law Bill Miller of Edwards. He is also survived by family members include his wife.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be given to the VFW Post 9016 in Washington.
