As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Sue may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hubert A. Sutherland and Arlene G. Bischoff Sutherland; her spouse Jerry Sweeney; and her sister Ann Straub. She is survived by: her stepchildren, Mark Dillon (Julie) of Chicago, IL and Amy King (Carl) of Charlotte, NC.; and her brother James Sutherland (Alice) of St. Petersburg, FL.. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Calvary Community Church (112 Calvary Way, Washington, IL 61571). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
Instead of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials in her name be directed to Calvary Community Church.
