He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Compton and Edna Hays Compton; and his brother Chuck Compton. He is survived by: his children, Theodore R. Compton Jr. (Betsy), Lynn Hatch (Charles), Terri Compton and Sherri Alexander Sr. (Scott); and his grandchildren, Corissa, Zach, Scott Jr., Robbie, Tyler and Jackie. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to ARK of Lacon and OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home.
