He is survived by: his son Steven; his sister Virginia; his sister-in-law Mary Ann Gibbs; his wife Susan Volkert of Columbia; his sons, Tyler Gibbs (Ashley) of St. Louis, MO and Griffin Gibbs (Ashley) of Mt. Zion, IL.; his grandchildren, Emery and Cohen Gibbs; his brother Ken Gibbs of Waterloo; his stepsiblings, John, Mark Akers, Elaine Pape, Janet Asselmeier and Diane Lavender; his brother-in-law Steven Volkert (Bonnie); his nephew Jake Gibbs; and his nieces, Tara Busch (Tony), Michelle Behrmann (Shawn) and Nicole Hartwick (Michael).
