He was predeceased by : his parents, Jacob J. Brinkmann and Anetha Birkner; his sister Theresa Birkner; his stepfather Leo Birkner; and his father-in-law James C. Bradley Sr..

He is survived by : his wife Debra Brinkmann; his sons, Joshua Brinkmann (Christy Torrey) and Tyler Brinkmann (Erika Lloyd); his siblings, Dona Toenjes (Larry), Lee Birkner (Linda), Linda Grahlherr (Gerald), Patty Brinkmann (Kevin), Fay Skaer (Gary), Dale Birkner, Marilyn Brinkmann, Keith Brinkmann (Dede), Kathleen Middendorf (Curt), Nora Hartmann (Tim), Tom Brinkmann (Tammy), Gail Cockrell (Benny), Louis Birkner (Tammy) and Carl Birkner; his mother-in-law Mary Bradley; and his siblings-in-law, Jim Bradley Jr., Michelle Voegtle (Don), Stacy Poepper (Paul) and Krista Doss (Terrance). He is also survived by many nieces; nephews; and cousins.
