With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Lee Schmieg of Waterloo, Illinois, born in Portsmouth, Virginia, who passed away on December 31, 2022 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his aunt Betty Runge; and his uncle Delbert Scheibe (Janet). He is survived by : his children, Ryan, Lauren and Sarah Schmieg; his parents, Lavern Schmieg and Charlotte Schmieg; his brothers, Brian Schmieg (Cathi) and Daniel Schmieg (Tracey); and his godmother Ruth White.
