She was predeceased by: her husband Willis Stemler; her parents, Jasper Matthews and Jennie Matthews; and her siblings, Sabina Burnside (Bill), Mildred Taylor (Jim), Doris King (Edward), Maurine Siebert (Ron) and Norman Matthews.
She is survived by: her children, Rodney Stemler (Michelle) and Cindy Smith (Mac); her grandchildren, Casey Stemler (Gordon Anderson II), Miranda Smith, Jack Stemler, Mara Stemler and Adam Stemler; her great grandchildren, Gordon Anderson III and Rose; her sisters, Jerry Matthews (Mary Lynn) and Donna Wright (John); and her sister-in-law Dottie Matthews. She is also survived by nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Quernheim Funeral Home (800 S Market St, Waterloo, IL 62298). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 at 9:30 AM at the same location.
