Schmitt of Waterloo, Illinois, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert A. Schmitt and Dorothy B. Schmitt; and his brothers, John and Fred Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl A. Schmitt; his daughter Cady Scott (Roy); his stepson Jeff Ries (Rachael Hattenbach); his grandchildren, Linley and Charlotte Russell; and his siblings, Tom Schmitt (Susie), Bill Schmitt (Jane), Christine Lutz (Denny), Judi Hergenroeder (Roy) and Jeff Schmitt (Beth). He is also survived by nieces; nephew; great nieces; great nephews; and cousins.
