It is with sadness that the passing of Melvin C. Allscheid of Waterloo, Illinois is shared. Melvin, born on September 22, 1938, passed away on September 23, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert J. Allscheid and Nelda C. Allscheid; his siblings, Darlene James, Jeanette Lentz (Ronald) and Virlyn "Buddy" Allscheid; and his siblings-in-law, Dixie Allscheid, Janice Allscheid and Rich Lammert.
He is survived by: his wife Jackie Allscheid; his children, Eric Allscheid (Cindie) and Karla Metzger (Aaron); his grandchildren, Josie Fischer (Jeremy), Callie Hopper (Ashton), Cassie Allscheid and Krista Allscheid; and his sister Yvonne Lammert. He is also survived by nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Quernheim Funeral Home (800 S Market St, Waterloo, IL 62298). A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions to: Monroe County History Museum.
