She was predeceased by: her parents, Shelby D. Mathes and Elizabeth A. Mathes. She is survived by: her children, Sheldon Burmester (Penny) and Tammi Burmester; her grandchildren, Kyle Stoops, Alexis Looten, Austin Liebert and Sarah Burmester; and her brothers, Shelby Mathes (Nancy) and Rodney Dean Mathes (Melanie). She is also survived by great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 13th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Quernheim Funeral Home (800 S Market St, Waterloo, IL 62298). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 13th 2026 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
As an expression of sympathy, the family prefers memorial contributions to: Monroe County History Museum.
