He was predeceased by: his wife Ramona; his grandson Gilbert V.; and his brother Julian. He is survived by: his son Gilbert Portillo; his grandson Luis (Gabby); and his great grandchild Genesis.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home (235 N Main St, Wauconda, IL 60084). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 27th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Transfiguration Parish (348 W Mill St, Wauconda, IL 60084).
