He was predeceased by: his former wife Mary Ellen Leonard; his parents, Chester Gray and Doris Gray; his former wife Mary Ellen Gray; and his granddaughter Santana Knox (Brown).
He is survived by: his wife Jane Polnaszek (Kociuba); his sister Caron Nedderson (Thomas); his children, Meg Grethen (Mark), Michael Gray Jr. (Bridget Hennings) and Amy Fambrough (Robert); and his stepchildren, Heather Dybing (Brian), Amber Dines (Polnaszek) and Damen Polnaszek (Heather).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St Francis de Sales Catholic Church (33 S Buesching Rd, Lake Zurich, IL 60047). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
