It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cecilio Vega (Waukegan, Illinois), who passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 58, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Cecilio had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Cecilio may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carmen D. Caballero and Cecilio C. Vega; his former wife Marisol L. Pineda; his daughter Jasmin M. Vega; his siblings, Carmen Gonzalez (Lisy) and Louis R. Vega; his nephews, Louis Petrick-Vega and Louis A. Vega; and his godchildren, Edwin Gonzalez Jr. (Elisette J. Gonzalez) and Elisette J. Gonzalez (Edwin Gonzalez Jr.).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Memorial Chapel of Waukegan (1521 Washington St, Waukegan, IL 60085). A prayer will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Warren Cemetery (1475 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031).
