He is survived by: his former wife Mary Garcia; his wife Mary G. Samarripa; his children, Diane Herlt (Michael), Denise Hinojosa (Jessie), Greg Samarripa (Sandy) and Pedro Jose Samarripa (Kristy Klemp); his grandchildren, Juliana Pacheco (Juan) and Joshua Hinojosa; his great grandchild Aaron Steel Pacheco; and his siblings, Alejandro Samarripa (Amelia) of Devine, Texas, Olivia Herrera (Abel) of Uvalde, Texas. and Esther Perez (Johnny) of Uvalde, Texas..
