With sadness, we share the passing of Marvin Barrett of Waverly, Illinois. Marvin, born on April 23, 1946, passed away on August 28, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Barrett and Maxine Dobson Barrett. He is survived by: his daughters, Becky Gotchall (Matt) of Jacksonville and Cathy Bettis (Shane) of Waverly; his grandchildren, Mackenzie Skrele of Jacksonville, Brady Bettis of Petersburg, Paige Skrele of Springfield, Gavin Bettis (Ashlee) of Waverly, Kelli Skrele of Jacksonville and Rylie Arndt (Andrew) of Vandalia; his great grandchildren, Kenden, Letty, Clayton, Lyric, Remi, Wesson and Walker; and his sister Linda Nichols (Glenn) of Jacksonville.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Waverly American Legion (136 E State St, Waverly, IL 62692).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kaye Barrett and sent to Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, 349 E. Tanner, Waverly, Il. 62692.
