He is survived by: his wife Beatrice Koscielski; his children, James Despain Jr. (Tammy), Cheryl Vatland (Roger), Susan Thompson (Rob) and Mary Gruben (Tim); his grandchildren, Craig Thompson, Alex Thompson and Emily Despain; his great grandchild Jason Thompson; and his siblings, Richard Despain and Betty Lou Miller.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ottawa Funeral Home (1111 La Salle St, Ottawa, IL 61350).
