With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Herbert John Strasser Jr. of West Chicago, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 14, 2025 at the age of 82. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Herbert leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his brother-in-law Erwin Schaefer; and his nephew John Schaefer. He is survived by: his daughter Elizabeth Townsend (Brad); his grandchildren, Baylea Weston (Dustin) and Bryar Townsend; his great grandchildren, Asher, Cooper, Levi and Eviana; and his siblings, Robert Strasser (Cynthia) and Marilyn Schaefer. He is also survived by nephew and four nieces and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
