He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Sr. Szumal (late Mary) and Emma Dean Szumal; and his brother Edward Szumal (Antoinette). He is survived by: his daughters, Susan Wucka (Paul), Nancy Kowalzyk (Daniel) and Christina Rosean (John); his grandchildren, Paul Wucka (Julie), Joseph Wucka (Tyler), Allyson Wucka, Jacob Wucka (Bradley Grant), Amanda Kowalzyk (Eddie Collins), Zachary Kowalzyk (Alanna), Emily Kowalzyk and John Randall Rosean; and his great grandchildren, Madison, Jackson Wucka and Kinsley Kowalzyk.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services (132 Fremont St, West Chicago, IL 60185). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 11:15 AM at the same location. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Mary's Church (164 N Oakwood Ave, West Chicago, IL 60185). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 at the Calvary Cemetery (720 E Washington St, West Chicago, IL 60185).
