It is with sadness that the passing of Phyllis Wendell (West Chicago, Illinois) is shared. Phyllis, born on July 18, 1934, passed away on September 6, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Phyllis will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Phyllis by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Phyllis is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Phyllis’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her father Walter Elwood Vail; her friends, George Seagal and Stephen Sondheim; and her husband Melville.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Arc Center in Reed-Kepler Park (201 W National St, West Chicago, IL 60185). She formed her own dog training company (NewFriend Dog Obedience) which lasted until COVID.
