He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Schaefer and Mildred Schaefer; and his brother Lawrence J. Schaefer. He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Scott Schaefer (Patricia), Kevin Schaefer (Claudia), Jennifer Reif (Bradley) and Kaitlin Schaefer (Sean Patrick); his grandchildren, Kaden and Avery Reif; his children, Colton, Kenzie Schaefer and Corbin Schaefer; and his sister Cheryl Sundheim (George "Duf").
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew Lutheran Church (155 N Prince Crossing Rd, West Chicago, IL 60185). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
