He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Owens and Mildred Garrett; and his brother Thomas Owens. He is survived by: his wife Karen Owens (Petersen); his daughters, Kimberly Van Tholen, Jennifer Kvidera, Elizabeth Malgapu (Kevin), Jaclyn Owens-Roenker (Kevin) and Kathleen Owens; his grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Brock (Christopher Krueger), Jesse Brock, Danny Van Tholen, Tyler Kvidera (Ashley), Olivia Kvidera, Trevor Kvidera, Justin Kvidera, Brennen Kvidera, Jazmyne Malgapu, Alanna Malgapu, Thomas Roenker and Jonathan Roenker; his great grandchildren, Kayne Savalas Lowery and Roan Brock; and his sisters, Judith Hudspeth (Gerald), Gwen Lee (Don), Theresa Michaels, Laura Reda (Jeff), Mary Petersen (Anthony), Maureen Owens and Mary Lou Petersen (Gerald).
Visitation was held on Monday, July 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services (132 Fremont St, West Chicago, IL 60185). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the St. Mary's Church (164 N Oakwood Ave, West Chicago, IL 60185). A burial was held on Tuesday, July 15th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery (20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421).
