He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Kirk and Helen Rose Kirk (Melvin); his brother Jimmy; his grandchildren, Mady, Zane and Baylen Lampley; and his stepgrandson Mike Cantrell.

He is survived by: his wife Connie; his children, Darrell Kirk Jr. (Noreen) and Leahann Lampley (Dave Poll); his stepson Tim Serena (Amanda); and his siblings, Terry Kirk and Ruth Kirk. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
