He was predeceased by: his parents, John Thomas and Margie Hood (Hubbard); his daughter Dee Hood Wilson; his sister Sandi Davis; his nephew Steve Davis; and his brother-in-law Don Thomas.
He is survived by: his wife Candace Thomas (Candy); his daughter Dawn King (Nelson) of Umatilla, FL; his grandchildren, Kaylee Williams (Wade) of Tunnel Hill, GA, Taylor Hood (Wesley) of West Frankfort, Jerry Ray Wilson, II (Haleigh) of West Frankfort, Savannah Harris (Sam) of Lansing, MI and Jordan Puckett (Kevin) of Galatia, IL; his great grandchildren, Alex, Aaliyah, Nolan, Reese, Christian, Freya, Jensen and Cylas; his siblings, JT (Charlotte) of Rainsville, AL, Gary (Twyla) of West Frankfort and Jane Jones (Dale) of McDonough, GA; and his brother-in-law Eddie Paul Davis of Benton, IL. He is also survived by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Heights Church of God (1418 E Clark St, West Frankfort, IL 62896). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
