He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Lemonia "Lela"; his children, John Kapetaneas (Helene) and Demetra Minginas (John); his grandchildren, Stephania, Christiana, Eva, Melina and Chrissa; and his siblings, Jimmy Kapetaneas (Rita) and Dina Panayiotoulias (Jimmy).
