He was predeceased by : his wife Patricia; his parents, Peter Val and Bridget Connelly; his siblings, Marie O'Brien (late Ed), Donald Connelly and Patricia Martin (late Robert); and his siblings-in-law, John Skelly (Charlene) and Thomas Skelly (late Marianne).

He is survived by : his sons, Joseph (Jeanne), Michael (Patricia), Kevin (Geana) and Robert (Sarah); his grandchildren, Kathleen, Bridget, Erin, Liam, Colleen, Grace, Anna, Anne Marie and Declan; and his sisters, Kathryn Connolly (late Robert) and Sister Rosemary Connelly.
