He was predeceased by : his mother Ruth Bremer; his brother Bobby Bremer; and his niece Diana Jewell. He is survived by : his wife Linda Bremer; his sisters, Helen Capdevielle, Betty O'Shaughnessy (Kevin), Mary Grace Jewell and Christine Bremer Muggli (Paul); and his brother-in-law Norman Gierlasinski (Carol). He is also survived by nieces and nine great-nephews and nieces.

Robert Erck wrote a sympathy message

“It's so sad that Dave passed on. Gosh, I talked to him just a short time ago. He did so much for the theater of Western Springs, and he seemed to always be there, as well as upbeat about his medical condition. The whole theater deserves condolences. I took some photos of him over the years and that is how I remember him. The theatrical photo was from “The Government Inspector" when he played a character named “Osip” who was the wise, insightful manservant.”
