He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold R. Cook and Florence Cook (Christian). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Cook (Oakes); his children, James Cook (Becky), Cathy "Cookie" Cook, Ed Cook (Angela) and Bruce Cook (Aryanne); and his grandchildren, Emma Vogel (Nate), Sarah Bertsche (Justin), Rachel Ibach (Drew), Theo Cook, Elissa Lindwall (Tim), Laura Sutton (Michael) and Justin Cook.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the College Church (332 E Seminary Ave, Wheaton, IL 60187).
